Purpose of the trip: To meet with Federal Ministers in Ottawa to discuss Yukon priorities such as funding for a new convention centre, YESAA streamlining, the future of immigration pertaining to the nominee program and educational and work permits. There were discussions on funding for the Yukon to do feasibility on a grid connection to the BC grid, and opening up clean energy opportunities. Premier Pillai was in Vancouver with Minister Wilkinson to announce the feasibility funding agreement for grid connection between the Yukon and BC.
